12 Weeks of Gifting, Week 3: Wanderoo

a pair of hand-knit socks in light blue and dark blue with wandering cables

This week’s discount pattern is the Wanderoo sock pattern, another pair of sport-weight socks made with that fabulous Gator yarn from Morehouse Farm. How providential that these socks are coming up just when I’ve been back to Morehouse Farm in person, to visit and teach at their Open Farm Day and say hello to the sheep, and to Erin and Albrecht and all of the fabulous Morehouse Flock!

The Wanderoo socks are closely related to last week’s discount pattern, Wanderly, and have many of the same advantages. They’re knit in sport weight so they’re fast to knit, they’re cushy and soft because Gator yarn is cushy and soft, and they are knit to the same gauge as Wanderly, but with different heels, a different cuff, and a different, non-cable cable pattern.

That means these two sock patterns are INTERCHANGEABLE. Who knew? Interchangeable socks?!?! You can swap out the stitch pattern, the heel, and/or the cuff between these two socks and it all works, any way you want it.
