Everyone’s Got a Story

I have a little podcast. It’s a video podcast, and also a Zoom knit-night, but one where we have interesting people from the knitting community join me every month for a conversation about what they do, why they do it, and how they got there.

Everyone has a story, you know? It’s been a real privilege to get to know my guests better. (Who knew Michele Lee Bernstein shared my love of Malabrigo? Now I do!)

I normally broadcast just once a month, but this month is special and I’ve got two episodes. The first takes place tomorrow, Friday July 2 at 7pm Eastern / 4pm Pacific time. I’m excited to be welcoming knitwear designer Josh Bennett to the program. You might know Josh as the host of Vogue Knitting Live’s Swatch What Happens Live, or from his work as a designer of men’s knitwear for runway collections with Tommy Hilfiger, Perry Ellis, and more. Josh is also a talented knitting teacher and a really great conversationalist, as I found to my pleasure when he interviewed me on Swatch What Happens Live last month. I’m excited to turn the tables on him and get to hear what makes Josh tick.

As of the posting time of this blog, there are still some spots available to join us live via Zoom. You can sign up here. If the spots fill, you can still catch the podcast, either live or recorded, via YouTube live, on my YouTube channel. You can also catch previous episodes there.

For the second episode, I’m excited to welcome Kel Bachus, progenitor of the Fiberworld Virtual Festival and founder of A Hundred Ravens hand-dyed yarn studio. In addition to all of that, Kel’s a professor of video game design at Champlain University and a veteran of the video game industry. I’m looking forward to learning about Kel’s experience in parts of the fiber business that are outside my experience, and if we’re lucky, they might possibly be convinced to recreate (or at least share the story of) their famous knitting yoga meme. Kel will join me Friday, July 16 at 7pm Eastern/ 4pm Pacific and you can register to join us live here. (Registration for both events is at the same link, but it will ask you to choose which one you want. If you want to register for both, you’ll have to go there twice.)

I keep a page here on the website with past and upcoming episodes, so you can always visit there to catch up on what’s coming up next on the podcast or look for a back episode. Who would you like me to interview next? Let me know in the comments.
