This week’s discount pattern is the wonderfully soft, wonderfully warm, wonderfully clever Glenborough Cowl.

As we enter November, I think worsted-weight cowls are the right sort of gift knitting to be focused on. They offer lots of impact for your knitting time.

Glenborough is knit to resemble a plaid, using three colors of Morehouse Farm‘s 100% superfine merino 3-Strand Worsted. That’s some mighty soft, next-to-skin yarn right there. The cowl features an I-cord cast on and bind off, and the pattern includes instructions for not only the technique, but a way to do it that looks better than the ordinary way. The “plaid” pattern is created in a nontraditional method that’s both easy and entertaining.
