What’s New
I’ve been up to quite a lot, knitting-wise, in the past month or so. Even though I haven’t been posting long-form, I’ve put most of these things up on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, so you many have seen them there.
For those who haven’t, here’s what’s new:
A free pattern! This is my BriLicious cowl, and you can download it for free from my Payhip and Ravelry stores. It’s made from 200 yards each of two colors of worsted weight yarn. This sample was knit in Malabrigo Rios in Azules and Apple Green, but just about any worsted-weight yarn would do.
I’ve been on a bit of a brioche kick lately. This is the cowl I use when I teach my introductory two-color brioche class, but I figured the rest of you might enjoy it, too. (If you miss the class this time around, I’ll be teaching knit-flat brioche and syncopation next month at Peacetree Fiber and Yoga Adventures.)
That’s one of the things I’ve been busy with this past month, scheduling classes both through my own Zoom channel and at a few virtual events. I’ve got quite a few coming up, from a complete sock workshop next week to the Bandera Festival in March, so I’ll point you to the page where I’ve got them all detailed, rather than list them here.
The other thing I got rolling this month is a video podcast called “Would Knit Be Fun,” which I plan to broadcast live on the first Friday of every month at 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern. The kickoff episode featured Erin of Morehouse Farm, and you can watch it on my YouTube channel if you didn’t catch it live.
Each month I’ll have a special guest from the fiber world whom I’ll interview. In February, that’ll be Christine Walker from Peacetree Fiber and Yoga Adventures. I also share a few knitting tips and tricks in each episode, and a limited number of viewers are invited to participate via Zoom, to attend live and, if they want, show off what they’re working on.
Advance registration is required for those who want to join live via Zoom. It’s free, but limited. You can sign up now for the February, March, and April episodes. (They all still have at least a few spots available as of this writing.)
I have a few other things in the works that I’d love to tell you about, but can’t quite yet, so stay tuned for updates on my knitting adventures soon!
