Join Me for a Knitting Tour of Amsterdam

One of my favorite things about knitting travel is that it brings together people who instantly understand each other. You can sit down next to someone you’ve never met, pull out your knitting, and suddenly you have something to connect over. By the end of the trip, you’ve made friends forever.
Our upcoming Knitting Tour of Amsterdam is shaping up to be something very special, and as of right now, we have two spaces remaining.
If you’ve dreamed of spending a few days wandering beside historic canals with a knitting project in your bag, taking in the art, food, and architechture of Amsterdam, then this trip might be exactly what you’re looking for.
From August 2-5, we’ll explore my favorite parts of Amsterdam, including visits to its most iconic yarn shops, plus a very special private presentation by knitting legend Nancy Marchant.

Windmills, Villages, and a Dinner on the Canals
On our first day we’ll travel through some of the most picturesque parts of the Netherlands, visiting charming villages, traditional windmills, and historic towns. There will be cheese, clogs, and beautiful landscapes.
That evening, we’ll experience Amsterdam from the water during a dinner cruise through the city’s famous canal system. There is something magical about seeing the city illuminated after dark while enjoying good food and good company. It’s the perfect introduction to Amsterdam.

Exploring Amsterdam’s Iconic Neighborhoods and Yarn Shops
The next day we’ll head into the heart of the city for a guided walk through some of Amsterdam’s most beautiful neighborhoods. We’ll stroll through the Jordaan district, explore the historic canal ring, admire the city’s architecture, and discover the little corners that visitors often miss.
After lunch we’ll visit some of Amsterdam’s most beloved yarn stores, where you’ll find European yarns, unique fibers, and all kinds of inspiration for future projects. (I don’t know about you, but I have never regretted bringing home yarn as a souvenir.)

Art, Food, and Nancy Marchant
Our third day combines several of my favorite things —art, good food, and Nancy Marchant!
We’ll begin with a guided visit to the Rijksmuseum, home of many priceless paintings by the Dutch masters. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious about Dutch history and culture, it’s an unforgettable experience.
Afterward we’ll take a guided food walk through Amsterdam’s unforgettable De Pijp neighborhood and sample some traditional Dutch treats.
Then we’ll return to the hotel for what promises to be a truly memorable afternoon: a private presentation by Nancy Marchant. Whether you’re a brioche enthusiast or simply admire her work, this will be a remarkable experience.
That evening we’ll gather for a farewell dinner with Nancy and all of our new knitting friends.
The trip officially ends after breakfast on Wednesday, August 5.
